lol - very much so. Worst kind of rain though isn't it, because it's on and off!

poor things, bet they enjoy themselves though. its chucking it down here in berkshire, which i'm glad of - for one it's keeping the garden green and the other reason is since it turned into gale weather with gallons of rain last night - it's kept the rat out of our garden (it's living under our deck) the only problem is - where the bloody hell is it!!!!!!! :scared:

Send some of that rain over here. We face level 3 water restrictions next month, the grass has all died and I save bits of water in the shower to chuck on the plants!

If we were able to send our rain to Queensland then we'd have loads of threads from new arrivals with titles like "we have been misled!" and "weather in Oz vs weather in UK - the same!" and such like.

Actually London (where I live) gets significantly less rain than Brisbane. The difference is Brisbane seems to get lots and lots of it in very short spaces of time which personally I prefer.

Cheers

We already get the whinging threads about the weather thanx anyway - theres one in the main forum running right now complaining that its been cold & grey skies for 2 days. Considering it was almost 27 degrees (yes, CELCIUS, you'd think it was farenheit, wouldnt you ) & only slightly cloudy in Brisbane today is it any wonder it annoys the shit out of me?

We desperately desperately need rain & I dont mean the drizzle that most people from the UK consider to be rain - we need full on widespread bucketing rain for 3 or 4 days & then perhaps it might put enough in the dams to tide us over til next summer without going to Level 3 water restrictions. To fill them (or at least fill them enough to get rid of all water restrictions) we need about 2 weeks of solid rain in the catchment areas.

Yes we do get more rain than London & yes it's for exactly the reason that you said because we get most of our rain in summer from storms. Dismally failed wet season for the last 5 years is why we are in the predicament we're in.

Wonder if I can set up my account to ignore threads about how cold/hot/humid it is or how people don't like the rain?
