A question for those that know about chocolate!

OK this may seem daft to you lot but we need answers. Me and the girls are off to the UK for a couple of weeks next month. I hate/detest/vomit at the mere mention of the cakky gloppy muck but some friends of the girls have asked them to bring them back some UK chocolate because they've been told it's nice - my girls couldn't care less where it comes from, they'll eat it all and don't notice a difference. So first off I need some names of UK stuff that teenagers will like.

Secondly, we were thinking of taking some Aussie chocolate - Cherry Ripe in particular (apparently it's good ) for friends in the UK. Is it worth it? Can you get it there? Will they appreciate it?

I don't need comments about me being weird - it's a given and there's nothing I've not heard already.:D (that's not going to stop some of you obviously), just some advice really :D

Thank you

I just love the original Wagonwheels (not the mini cr*p that is on sale in Australia). Another favourite one is Mint Creams.
You might like to ask the rats that inhabit Fortitude Valley as I hear that they have a liking for chocolates.:D

Go to satans den (tescos) ( well they are good for SOME things ), and walk down the choccy aisle, they should have selection boxes of various brands.
Get a cadburys selection box. And one of whoever does Mars bars and twix. And nestle. Youngsters wouldnt appreciate the darker stuff.

You can't get Cherry Ripes in the UK unless you pay a premium for them at an Aussie food shop. I had to get a mate to bring some over for me a few years ago. There's nothing in the UK that comes close to them.

:)

Cool! Thanks for that. The girls couldn't remember. That's that bit sorted then. Just the English stuff to bring back then. Keep the suggestions coming :D

Green and Black - especially if white chocolate is the preference. Not something you can eat a whole bar of in one sitting (although I've tried) as its tooo rich, but my God its good.

If you're looking for chocolate with no Aussie equivalent then try Wispa if they still do them in the UK.

Yorkie is another one that you don't get here. And I'm not sure if I've seen an Aero.

As for the selection boxes. Yes you do get them here but they'll have been made the Aussie way (fresh milk) rather than the UK way (sour milk) so there will be a taste difference.
