A question about witches hats...
So many things are shorten by adding a ‘O’ after the first syllable…
Registration: Rego Service Station: Servo Carburettor: Carbo Etc etc etc So why are traffic cones “witches hats†instead of conos??? |

Who knows? They are a strange breed.
Why don't they just say 'traffic cones' it just as easy? I did not know that witches wore traffic cones as head gear. |

A witches hat, when I was younger, used to be an ice cream with a lolly sticking out the top of it.

My wife is Aussie and she is always winging about the number of "trucks, road works and witches hats" on our roads in the UK. Thought she was mad at first, but now just resigned to the fact! Guess she is right though!

Heard a lovely one the other day......
Having "shortened" change (as in coins) to "sharpnel", we were delighted to hear some young girl exclaim.... "look at all the shrappo in my purse"! |

PS Playing eye spy on the M4 in UK with an Aussie who says something beginning with W H is a nitemare if you dont know what a witches hat is! |
