Hmm interesting. We stayed in a backpackers in Perth last February and spoke to many of the travellers there. They all drank loads, especially the men. They drank alot as there was nothing much else to do. At night most things are shut and only afew bars open til 2am. So it was alot of drinking in the backpackers place itself. There was so much noise everynight.
I find i drink more here to help with the boredom:unsure:

As for drugs, smoking pot here seems the norm!
