really fancied some. It's been 18 years since my last Polo, and guess what I'm sure the holes have gotten bigger! |

I did wonder why I was getting palpitations. Normally I wouldn't buy something with such a big Aus tax markup but I just

Highway robbery! Highway murder, even!
Needless to say I didn't get any despite the pangs I had for some. |

It could have been worse, last week there were UK Minstrels in an IGA near me, on the bag it said (Pound Sign 1), on the shelf it was $7.00.

I use to just buy “lifesavers†when we lived in Australia unless family were visiting and they had a shopping list to bring lol but here in England it just depends where you buy them from at home bargains and B&M they are cheaper than the price quotes from Tesco. I was talking with an estate agent last week who just before Covid had visited Australia and he said a “pint†of beer from a pub in Adelaide was $9 is that correct? I buy pods here in the uk for £2 is that cheap?
As for coffee pods - Woolworths prices for packs start at $3.80 for packs of 10. |

I'm Adelaide area (near Barossa) but don't go out to pubs much. Think my son said he paid $10 in the pub near me earlier this year.

Be glad you aren't in Brisbane where even my back street local is now charging $12 a pint.
Didn't pay attention to prices though as covered by work. |

Been in Brisbane a few times this year - even made it to the Pig & Whistle :)
Didn't pay attention to prices though as covered by work. City prices have always been shocking, but the few pubs that exist in the suburbs weren't so bad. My tatty local used to charge $6 for a pint pf Bulmers, then they closed during covid, turned it into a nasty glass & chrome monstrosity, and doubled all the prices  As for Polos, I remember them being two & a half new pence, and 17 in a packet! Probab~ly eaten my body weight in them over the years |
