Is there anybody out there feeling a bit low about going due to the fact they don't have trillions of pounds to take and 'heaven forbid', may have to have a mortgage at some stage ;)

We had to put up the $100k bond so by the time we got off the plane and got our passports stamped, we had about $11k in the bank. Bothered me a bit at the time but here we are, seven months later doing allright :)

I know what you mean though. I laugh when I read threads like "We're only taking $250k with us. Will we have a decent lifestyle?"

Or that newbie bloke, (was it Thebears??) moaning about the price of houses in Toorak. Or how he's got 2 BMWs and 4 holidays a year.

I'm just gald they don't have snow in Oz. It gets you down when you've to walk 15 miles to the pits every morning, work for 15 hours in the dark then walk 15 miles home again.

All for 6 shilling a year
