Hi, i looked through 9 pages of this till i found one near mine. I'm 43 hubby 48 this year and we haven't actually started our application yet, everytime i think about it i 'brick it' as they say.

I know it is but our best friends went 1 month ago, he is 50 this year and she is 46, he is a plumber and was sponsored by a company in bunbury, they only took two of their kids, 2 older ones stayed here, the whole thing took them 8 months start to finish on RSMS. We were kind of hoping that we could go same route, my husband done wall and floor tiling for 15 years, his trade is on the SOL, we were going to see if we could get him a company sponsor, i have a hairdressing nvq with two and half years part time experience but am not doing it now, have just applied for job in travel agents, want to work full time as kids are getting more independent.
p.s. your 'START IT' shout made me chuckle :D

I'm 42, in april, OMG, and started the process when i was 40, with one thing and another, coz you never know , what lies ahead, its took us this long, and we still don't have a visa.

My whole application has been lodged for 4 months ( i am a staff nurse, and hubby a printer, both on skilled list), and we have heard jackshit, although , of course, they have taken our money :rolleyes:

The way i look upon it now, if we get the visa, and life throws another spanner , we go to oz and validate, it then lasts another 5 years,

We are hoping we don't have to do this coz we don't really have the funds to do, but if the worst comes to the worst, hubby will sell his body :D

(they are not totally accurate as some people lied ;) )


So it looks like the bulk of people are in their 30s.
