Poker in Australia
Not sure if this should be in the barbie, but whatever.
Anyone play poker in Australia? I'm off to a texas hold 'em night next Wednesday. If anyone in Melbourne fancies a game not in the Crown, then feel free to head to Yarraville, and the Commercial Hotel on Whitehall Street....apparently, the place is not as bad as it looks ;) :D |
Re: Poker in Australia
My OH is busting to play Poker. He used to failry regularly back home and has a nice set of ceramic chips too, but hasn't found anyone that will play or learn at least. Sadly we're up in NSW though, and he's back home for a few weeks anyway...
If there's anyone that wants to play up here in my neck of the woods (Newcastle area) could you let me know pls? Lel |

Re: Poker in Australia
sounds good...
just off now to do "Sunday" chores... :( Come on everyone else! Fancy a game of Poker? |
Re: Poker in Australia
There's loads of places to play, and as Aussies are gambling mad, there are loads of private games. I got invited to 4 private poker games within my first 6 months in Oz. And seeing that the World Champion is now Australian there'll be an even bigger poker craze over the next couple of years.
Here's a few big places to play, but there's bound to be more: A.P.A Club Sydney 459 Botany Rd, Sydney, Australia Casino Canberra Glebe Park, 21 Binara Street, Canberra City, ACT 2601, Australia Crown Casino 8 Whiteman Street, South Bank, Melbourne, Victoria 3006, Australia SkyCity Adelaide Casino North Terrace, Adelaide, South Australia 5000, Australia From the site, http://www.pokerpages.com/index.htm |
Re: Poker in Australia
For anyone in NSW who enjoys poker get along to these events they are free to enter and very well run and if you win the big one you earn a seat at the big poker tourny in Melbourne I believe.
http://www2.australianpokerleague.com.au/ If anyone does organise a get together in Brissie let me know as I love my poker and would be interested in a friendly low buy in game. I have also contacted the site and they are looking to expand to QLD as they have been such a huge success in NSW so keep an eye on the website for details. cheers TT

Re: Poker in Australia
How about online poker? Paradise Poker is pretty decent...lots of free play and real money tables. It's always interesting watching the high rollers play...
