Planking???

Is it cos I'm getting old? Or cos I'm just missing the point? Am I the only one reading this stuff about some craze called "planking"and thinking....

WHY?!!!:confused::confused::eek:

Planking involves a person lying face down in, on, over or across various objects, and online communities have sprung up for plankers who want to share their plank-related antics with each other.
Facebook page Planking Australia has more than 8700 supporters and hundreds of photos of people lying on desks, train tracks, escalators, Eskies, fire hydrants, motorbikes, and other plankers. One intrepid planker has even posted a photo of himself planking at the historical ruins of Petra, Jordan.
But closer to home, one 20-year-old Gladstone man found himself in a spot of trouble when he was allegedly found indulging in the pastime on a local police car last night.

Jeez. I had a few pints. Thought it was a bit of a laugh (like everything when you're drunk) and now every one's at it. :blink:

Re: Planking???

Waking up face down somewhere makes you a 'planker'? In that case I've been one for years. That picture is most odd - looks a little like the chap is trying to penetrate the rail tracks. Bizarre even for Queensland.

Reminded me of something I read the other week about Extreme Ironing. Some guy was doing it in his dressing gown on the M1 in the UK when it was closed recently. Nowt so queer as folk.

Why? Why not?

Plank away people, as long as you harm nobody else (or harm people that deserve it).

Our ancestors fought wars for the right to plank, you get in there!
