Photo Editing software advice...
 

I got a new camera for my birthday and the photo's are HUGE!! Just over 2 mb each and I dont have anything to resize them or edit or anything...

Was just told about www.download.com and when I did a search I came up with 810 photo editing software downloads.... :eek:

Can anyone recommend anything that is free, preferably, but good and easy to use??

My suggestion would be to change the image quality and size options on your camera itself. I have a 10 megapixel camera - on the highest quality setting the pix are enormous. The only people needing to use this setting would be pro photographers etc.......

Just drop it down a bit and it makes all the difference to image size.

Just had to UNinstall the software....pop ups were driving me NUTS!!!

Apart from that...worked well :D

Ahhhh thats cool...someone else PM'd me with this one....but he is a little dodgy, so wasnt sure if I should trust him....you know the type ;)

hoho - lots of dodgy advice out there from people regarding computers. Always good to be sceptical until you have a a couple of separate recommendations :-)

The beauty of picasa is that once installed, you can use it as a standalone app on your pc, it will automatically scan your entire pc for images and sort them automatically by timeline.
It allows you to customise ALbums from your stored images and then automatically upload them to the web (all integrates with your Google account)

Yeah, but this particular person is particularly dodgy.... :D

I was having a look at it and it does look good....especially because I am hopelessly disorganised and have stuff all over the place on this computer....if it helps with that, then that is definatly a good thing.
