Joining the Navy eh? Well in that case, you will go where they tell you. I've got a mate who was a PO in the oz Navy. He's just got out as he was spending 10 months of the year at sea. If that's the case you won't be seeing any of Australia. The RAN do have a base in Melbourne although that is mainly recruit training.
