Be interesting though! And we give up being popular when we become Mods - they just don't tell us till after we have signed the binding contract in blood.

After two years of being here....Australia easily.

Bit of a rough time while I was on 457...as ward I was sent to was dreadful...but since I got PR in July 2005 it has just been great

Looking forward to applying for Citizenship in 6 months

Mrs OH has been more fortunate, the 457 should IMO be obliterated

Did you apply for PR or was it sponsored?

Great...I'd never be obligated to someone that way again....I'm an Agency Psych nurse ....work 3 days a week, don't need to do any more ...have got a couple of big hospitals I get regular shifts with ...and am really happy.

Auckland ...it's a dump.

Thanks, its the feeling of someone else having the control on a 457 isn't it?

At least with PR you call the shots

We're looking at NZ, did you just stay their for a couple of days?
Did you write for permission to pick up the Visa?

Having to leave OZ and then come back is ....
would rather fly up to Cairns and work our way down to Brissy in a campervan.

Yes...I hated that aspect too..

You have to be there a week
And your CO will inform when she is nearly ready to grant visa...and will say you can book flights etc - you have to send all details of flight and hotel etc ...then go...once there you need to make sure you have internet access...as they email when you can go to Consulate to get Visa.

You can go anywhere...as long as you get off Aus soil.
