on our way

hi all

we are in Singapore at the mo, on our way to brissie on monday (3 night stopover) for those who have never been to singapore it is nice, but chucks it down most of the day due to the rainy season, but still very warm.

anyway drinks are bloody expensive at £5-6 a pint in most places, food reasonable and clothes pretty cheap.we planned on doing the night safari tonight but the weather put a stop to that idea. :(

we are staying in caloundra on the sunshine coast for the first couple of weeks when we land on monday.

we dont know anybody in australia and never been before either so a really big move for us, me , the wife and 14 year old daughter.

the help on this forum has been a great help for us, so i'd like to thank you all for that, hopefully we wwillbe able to meet some of you in oz and maybe make some much needed friends when we arrive

bye for now

look forward to posting our updates

If you get chance ring Raffles Hotel (Singapore) and book for afternoon tea - its lovely (or it was when we went there a couple of years ago - propert cucmber sandwiches!).
Also if you've got time go over to Sentosa Island it a great day out and they used to do a fab water display in the evening.
But anyway once you get over to Oz you'll all make new friends very easy as everyone is so friendly.
We fly out agian on Monday (having only just returned 6 weeks ago - had to validate visa quickly) but I'm sure you and your family will fall in love with the place I know we did the very first time we went.

Good luck and I look forward to reading your posts.

Hi Steve, just to say goodluck with your new life in Oz! We stayed in Caloundra in April, really lovely place! I'm sure you will in settle in nicely! There will be plenty of Australian 14 year old surfers for your daughter to get to know!
Best of luck to you all Jx

Good to hear your on your way. Take time to chill a bit in Sunshine Coast. Beautiful place. Keep an eye on the meets section and try and catch up with some people. We found it really tough to begin with but met a few good expats and a couple of ozzies and have got on a lot better.

Cheers
