I would say nothing apart from the fact that a large number of Irish folk in the recent past months have been notable around the city,in the pubs and the like.

Have Irish renters in two houses very close by. Actually rather refreshing to have them around.

Maybe it's the pikies. Is there a big fat gypsy wedding happnin here someplace? :D

The original poster seems to have a chip in his shoulder with regard to Ireland. I'm wondering what's his agenda here.

Why so sensitive Irish?

I am naturally suspicious given your bigoted comments in the past about the Irish and Ireland. Why the need to mention the "many Irish backpackers flooding into WA"?

Another fact Irish - and very welcome they are too.

You've changed Irish, I think I preferred you when you were spouting your, ahem, 'expert' knowledge about the housing market

Chillax

I couldn't give a toss what you think. I just felt like highlighting your ignorance for others, as if it were necessary.

Likewise. I've noticed recently that your housing market drivel has dried up to a dribble - I've got to give you some credit for that

Like I just said Irish, there's just facts in what I posted about this accident

If you want to read more into it, then that's your indaba

I have to say that I have wondered the same thing, given the constant derogatory comments about the 'oirish, pikeys, catholics, FTP, scotch etc'. Is there an antipathetic connection between South Africans and Celtic peoples that I am unaware of? I would like to know.

Ever since Rorke's Drift when the Welsh gave them a bit of a pasting.

I doubt it has anything to do with South Africa. Anyone can be a bigot.

There isn't. If you want to turn this thread into something that was not intended, then that's your issue not mine

I started this thread to inform, take that as you want

I have to say, I have witnessed a fair amount of anti Scotch and Oirish prejudice on this forum, to the point that it's blatantly ignored, it's disgraceful, but cannot recall an instance of racism from Amazulu, not once. Yes he joins in with all the jokes, as we all do, but that's it as far as I'm concerned.

Re: Irish guy dies on Rio Tinto site

No racism is ignored. If its meant in a serious tone and is reported its dealt with. There's plenty of anti-Welsh comments on here too but no worse than in any pub back home, same as the anti-English comments. if you don't think its been dealt with properly pm Sue about it.

The thread was not started with any racist intent and Alfresco has already tried to get it back on track. If it continues in this vein I will close it.
