I know what you mean about the cost of lenses. My optometrist was charging me nearly $600 for a 6 month supply (bifocal, high hyperope) and on netoptical they were $200.

If you're looking for prescription glasses, try www.zennioptical.com. I've been using them for about 4-5 years now to order glasses. Just got 4 new pairs, including one pair of sunnies, with my prescription and anti-glare lenses - total cost $50 delivered.

for books i used to use book depository i now use abebooks.com for second hand and out of print books and fishpond.com. for new books
