Default One of those times you hope the BBC is wrong.

Breaking news.....

A nurse at the London hospital where the pregnant Duchess of Cambridge was treated has been found dead in central London, the BBC understands.....
.....It is understood the dead woman took a hoax call from an Australian radio station earlier this week.

Telegraph now has it too, definitely sounds like suicide.

Poor woman

A childish prank that's gone terribly wrong. Never mind knowing the mentality of the DJ's I'm sure they will be calling the grieving families and pranking them as well. Should get a laugh even if it is only in their office.

Certainly seems as though it is suicide, what a terrible thing, poor woman and I feel sorry for the family. I sincerely hope the radio station do what the BBC did and sack them.

Disgusting, poor lady and her family. Hope those DJs feel really bad.

Hope the radio station take a leaf from the BBC's book, remember the Jonathon Ross and Russel Brand prank, they both lost their jobs.

You'd like to think they'd get the boot but they probably still think that what they did was funny. Funny that they had no idea of the possible consequences to other peoples' careers and, even, lives. Poor woman!

Oh good grief. How unbelievably sad.

That is the trouble with these pranksters- they never think of the possible consequences. Let us hope they feel some remorse at least, and if not then they should feel the full opprobrium of the public and their bosses.

The station says it will hold an inquiry, and both of them have had to take thier twitter accounts down after the abuse they have been given.

Doubtful - they still employ Kyle & Jackie O after all their controversies.

A joke that went wrong. Who would have thought a nurse would do that?

This could set a new precedent....the end of all phone practical jokes - everywhere. No more at all....there's no knowing the reaction.

Patient confidentiality is a absolutely non negotiable fundamental.....no doubt this poor nurse had visions of discipline measures from the hospital as well as an inquiry by the NMC.... that could mean the end of her nursing career and end to her income..... Not to mention the public shame of being known as the nurse who failed to do this...

If only the general public had any idea of the professional standards we live by...this should NEVER have happened.

it seems she was the one who put the call through...she did not disclose the details...
you would have thought that the nature of the hoax would have mitigated if her employers had taken an extreme view..

Exactly. I think that's why the call differs from a bog standard prank call impersonating someone. Of course there was a chance they would get supplied with patient info and as you say that's very serious.

You think?

NMC hearings are published on their web site....for all to see....go have a look at them and see the kindbof crap nurses loosevtheir licences for and are suspended for and are censured for.....

Even a censure from the nmc is enough to ruin her career.... And even with the support of the hospital she would have felt an overwhelmingbresponsibility

Her poor husband and children
