Re: The Official Loners Thread
Hi-ya just thought I'd add my tuppence worth. Been here for a year and a bit. Long time listener first time caller type thing. Enjoyed the thread you guys have put together. Heading back home to Ireland for Christmas (can't effin wait!) see the family and mates have the craic and scratch that itch.
I'm most interested to see how I'm going to react to being at home again whether I'll be missing Sydney and Oz or realising I should be at home.
Anyhow it's always interesting reading how you guys are getting on.

Re: The Official Loners Thread
Perhaps we ought to kickstart the thread by widening it to those of us that are now loners, even if we didn't start off this way when we first got here, cos I'm sure there's a few of us out here........

update from me, ive been here over a year in perth, and im bored
bored off my job but thats all!
i love it here, got my penthouse north of Perth, i dive every weekend and hopefully buying a boat next year to go with my 4X4
i do not regret coming here one bit, had my mum and dad over and my wingman too, good to see then but they know why i am here and can see why im staying!
i also start training next year for a new career if my funds clear and then its going to be even better

Re: The Official Loners Thread
My update.
Still loving Sydney. Been working for about 9 months now and have a lovely new ford focus. Had a few relationships since being here but back to being single again. Made some really good friends. I've been skiing in Perisher, been to Canberra and last week I did a road trip up the east coast and camped all the way. Stopped off in Port MacQuarie, Coffs Harbour, Ballina, Byron Bay, Surfers Paradise, Brisbane and Toowoomba. Some amazing scenery.
Anyway, right now the plan is to keep having fun and see more.

Ah Pol - sorry to hear that but hope you are finding the positives in it all. It is quite scary being in a strange land all by yourself - but strangely exciting too. I know you've been here a while so its not like you just landed or anything but all the same it'll take some getting used to. Good on ya for embracing your new found freedom - I assure you that when you are hungry again, the fish in Oz sure taste much better that the crap they serve in the chippies back home!

Re: The Official Loners Thread
So yes I think we can expand this thread to include a new category of loner in Australia.
