Before I commit to helping you I must be assured that you really, really need to know this information.

Yes ,done the east-west drive .There are plenty of stops between Norseman and Ceduna (1220km ) .Eucla would be the best /largest,but there are good facilities all along the highway.

We were going to do it back in October - maybe next year we will.

Yes, we've done it (with 7 month old baby and two dogs) - Brisbane to Perth. My husband did it by himself last time with one dog and I took three kids on the plane.

It looks like the karoo in South Africa Luma. It can't be that bad. ;)

Yes, I've done it four times. It's not as hard as it looks. Just be sensible about taking rest breaks and watch out for road trains. Port Augusta, Kimba, Eucla and Ceduna are good places to stop along the way.

I've gone across on the bus. Three and a half days to get from Perth to Sydney!

That's nuts. The bus service has been stopped now.

I've been told not to bother doing it two ways ?

So either on a round Aus trip... or on the train and back via car or vice versa.

Horses for courses. First time is always the worst, but it does get easier the more you do it.

Yep, i did it back in 1989 and i remember seeing a coca cola tree. Anyone know if its still there?

It was a dead tree that had hundreds ( Oh ok, it was a canny few ) of coca cola bottles hanging from it.

Apparently its quite a pleasant day out these days, bit of a trek to the last hole though http://www.nullarborlinks.com/

Nice to do along the way, just to say you've done it

I always want to know why people do this. There's nothing there!

My father spent many years inspecting Centrelink offices throughout the country, and participating in car rallies in his spare time. He was always running into tourists trying to make this trip, who got halfway through and wanted to know what they were supposed to see.

Maybe I'm missing some romantic outback dream or something.

Seeing as I was born in Australia and should therefore love and revere everything in this Great Southern Land, I'll expect a lynch mob around soon.
