Notification from BE

Copied from the Lab:

Anyone else getting this?

The last 24 hrs, the emails I receive from BE telling me there's a new post on a subscribed thread have been completely blank.

The address and subject are OK - just nothing on the actual page.

Other emails are normal: is this common, or is there something amiss with my Thunderbird?

Yes, I have just this minute checked my email via webmail instead of Thunderbird, and the messages are OK on the server - I got to *this* page by clicking the link so all OK at the BE end.

I've been getting all sorts of strange things on my comfuser the last week or two so it might be a virus....

You don't seem to get much luck with your comfuser. How are you getting on with Chrome? Have you switched permanently yet?

Nice of you to remember!

I tried Chrome, managed to import the FF bookmarks, but in the end I uninstalled it - I didn't really get on with the layout, and FF 4xx turned out much better in the end.

The offer of one of Hal's stress pills was to Mr O'Tool......

I think I have found the problem - my antivirus. Yesterday I ticked the box which appends a line below a sent or received message saying it was virus-checked, and that's when the text began disappearing.

Perhaps you could reply here - I will revert and see what happens?

I found if the confuser goes wrong, check out what was installed the day before and uninstall it. Twice now it turns out to be security additions:sneaky:

Re: Notification from BE

Solved. It appears that my antivirus, when I have the "append" boxes ticked to pop a message on emails saying they are virus free, actually wipes the messages!

Having removed that "feature" it all works again...................
