I filled up 1/2 a tank (the first time I have NOT filled up completely here) a few days ago and I was paying 149 for Shell V-Power (98) fuel. Got 4 cents knocked off the price at the end, but still a long shot from the 129 that I saw the last time I filled up...

102.4 for ULP this morning at the new Caltex that just opened at the end of my street. Don't know about diesel since I drive a soccer mom car.

Using store loyalty cards never seems to result in us being able to select gifts from a catalogue. Nor do they result in those large money off vouchers every six months or so that we used to get in the UK.

Trick is apparently to have a regular shop/spend, and then go elsewhere/reduce your spend for a while. Shortly thereafter they send you the money off vouchers to entice you back.

I only use Flybuys now. I get $10 off grocery shopping every now and then at Coles.

I'll be using my $330+ flybuy dollars we've earned this year, to do the Christmas shopping

Also got a $20 Myer voucher just by using the Myer One card when I fill up the car. Only had it about 6 months.

Is that from points that you have accumulated or via certain vouchers/rebates that do not burn points in order to get the discount?

I didn't know about that. Can someone summarise what cards I should wave at the cashiers in which petrol stations please? I only knew about BP giving Velocity points.

We got the Coles credit card - pay it off every month. This year I have over $1000 worth of flybuy dollars which will pretty much pay for Christmas, including all the kids' stocking filler gifts from Target. And the booze.

Happy days.
