You may also leave your windows open a few centimetres only to let hot air escape in Queensland if the vehicle it unattended.

Sounds great...Unless you park your car at a public transit parking lot for 11 hours a day like I do. Nobody leaves their windows open a few cm. Well, at least not anybody that doesn't want their car broken into. And it gets a whole lot hotter in WA than in Queensland, so even with the window shade and my tinted windows on a 40+degree day the leather seats do get hot enough to burn skin. As does the steering wheel.

Two other things:
- Australia suffers from more red tape than the UK. There are rules, licences and training for everything - whether it makes sense or not. This is connected with the thick in Australia being really thick, hence the need to list everything out in detail and check at every stage.
- You might think it's one country, but in reality there are surprising levels of difference between different states, between city and regional, and even areas of individual city areas. That's not just in sports (eg AFL vs NFL vs Real Football), but also in pronunciation and even the terms used (eg Mapping Words Around Australia | The Linguistics Roadshow ). The TV is also surprisingly regionalised.

I refer the honourable gentleman to the example of the pink batts - where said idiots were taking a staple gun (metal staples), foil based insulation, and stapling through said foil with said metal staples into mains wiring that they must have seen as they offered up the insulation.
Hence the need to extreme levels of red tape - to deal with people who need detailed instructions as to how to put on a pair of trousers....

When we got our new work uniforms recently the first instruction on the sheet entitled "Wearing your work trousers" was
'Remove garment from plastic bag'

Did your bag fit you? I had to cut holes in mine to facilitate the use of my limbs which seems like a bit of a dangerous oversight as there where no instructions about how to use the scissors.

You obviously haven't been to Perth in the summer. Even with a windscreen shade and dark tinted windows, a car parked all day in the sun is like a furnace inside. And you certainly wouldn't want to leave your window down even by a hairsbreath or someone will break into it!

But on a more serious note, temperature-wise it surely doesn't get beaten by Perth, does it?
