Is it normal for an interview candidate
To be sent for a full medical? I had a interview for an admin position last week. They've since sent me a heap of forms to fill in re my medical history and are paying for me to undergo a full medical.
Don't know if this is standard practice or potentially good news coming my way? |

PS. Not funny of course if you are a co-joined twin. I take it back. |
Re: Is it normal for an interview candidate
I was told at interview that the package would only be discussed with the winning candidate. It is in oil and gas sector.

Don't know if this is standard practice or potentially good news coming my way? If your medical passes, I can't imagine they would then reject you, after paying out a few hundred dollars for it. |

Re: Is it normal for an interview candidate
Kybik an MOT is the abbreviation used for Ministry of Transport test which has to be carried out on cars in the UK to check their roadworthiness. Quite often used as slang for checking out the general health or condition of someone or something.

Re: Is it normal for an interview candidate
From my experience in the oil and gas industry you would only normally ask for medicals for the final short list of candidates.
We had to have them for no matter what your position was -onshore or offshore - jobs were offered subject to passing a police check and medical check. It certainly sounding promising. |
Re: Is it normal for an interview candidate
When my husband got his job in mining he was offered the job but they said he'd have to have a medical before he started. Presumably if there was a problem they could retract their offer?
I'm somewhat surprised they'd be doing that in the interview stage so I'd guess you're definitely in the running for hte job. |

ooh that sounds promising. I won't get my hopes up though!
Thanks everyone. |
