Nice place to stay in Hobart
or surrounds for two adults, two kids?
We're off to Tas between Boxing Day and the New Year, and was wondering whether anyone had recommendations for hotels / apartments / serviced studios to stay for the first few nights (Hobart or close surrounds)? Cheers |

Cheers http://www.stivesmotel.com.au/ http://www.fountainside.com.au/ You'll see that they are owned by the same people. Check out their reviews on Tripadvisor. Not sure what they'd be like on availability now though - we booked months ahead...... |

I've stayed at Somerset on Salamander - gorgeous room, great views. There's also Somerset on the Pier
Last time, and this year I'm using the MidCity Motor Inn - cheaper and not quite as posh but still good. Have a good trip and look out for witches who are in town at the same time :scaredhair: |

Can't wait for my trip this year, long ago I promised someone I'd be in Hobart for the end of the Sydney-Hobart yacht race, and for the Taste Festival...might actually make it now, 12 years on! |
Re: Nice place to stay in Hobart
We stayed at the Fountainside and found it brilliant - it rates very highly, largely because the minibar is so reasonable I think! But it is well positioned, rooms were comfy, parking easy and although on a busy roundabout, I found it pretty quiet (I do get grumpy if I can't sleep)
