Hi,
I am looking at moving out to Aus around x-mas and was wondering how to go about getting a new job. Currently I am an Architectural Technologist in the UK, and with Aus construction being so different I wasn't sure weather I should go straight into that job straight away and thought about maybe getting a job that could just tie me other for around 6 months until I had found the right place.
Just wonderd if anyone could help and what they did for jobs when they first arrived if they didn't take up thier porffesion they had in the UK straight away.

Have you got a visa? First thing I would do is take a look at www.immi.gov.au to see whether you are eligible to come here to work.

Yeah i'm elegible to come and work. Its just the construction differences that I was worried about if you know what I mean. I wanted to know how different Aussies built compared to us Brits so I'd know how much adjusting I'd have to do or weather I'd be worthless for a bit untill I got to grips with it all!
