Still following WW, but not going to meetings. I get to the gym twice a week but I'd like to get more walking done - need some dry weather for that though - it fels liek it's rained here for months.

I was really owrried that after my Xmas indulgences, I'd find it hard to get back onto the diet, but seems to be OK. Mind you, I had no choice as I'd thrown out all my big clothes.

Got a nice surprise in the sales after Xmas whaen I got int oa size 12 top which is keeping me motivated.

We have our medicals on Saturday and I was hoping t ohave lost maybe another 7lbs by then, but that's OK. At least my BMI isn't scary anymore.

Good luck everyone.
congrats on losing over 2 stone you must be well chuffed!! and size 12 - fantastic

Seriously though I do have a lower back problem exacerbated by lots of exercise (including nooky) at times. So I have to be very careful not to overdo things.

i did consider posting the link to the thread .... but then i decided to be nice (well as nice as i can be after i mentioned it in the first place)

Seriously though back problems make most exercise very difficult - have you been able to talk to someone (physio perhaps?) who could suggest types of exercise that would not add to your back problems?

Thanks.

I injured my back about 8 years ago lifting something at work. Union wouldn't take the case to court after almost 3 years of gathering evidence - and I am left with a dodgy back.

I had physio and an ostiopath to begin with and then steroid injections. Which helped.

It seemed to settle down after a few years - but I only have to do something really stupid - like sitting on the floor to watch tv and I know about it the next day.

I swim and do lots of stretching and have managed to lose some weigh (as the weight makes it worse). But the main area I seem to have (All of a sudden - middle age spread early) is my tummy. I can't do sit ups but I do try to hold in and then relax my muscles. I have strong stomach muscles but they are hidden by a roll of fat

My back is mainly ok and as long as I am careful I get along fine.

The rugby is for all my motherly 'frustrations'...

my back is better after exercise, awful if i do nothing...
dr said to stay as active as possible, cos when my kidneys started playing up on sunday i took some really strong painkillers, they knocked me out, i crashed out all afternoon and i ended up having spasms in my back whenever i tried to move - pure agony!
have kept on the go since monday pm and have taken the right painkillers and am now 'thankfully' almost ok...
Rugby tonight though, cant wait! impressed with myself cos i can jog around the pitch 1 and a bit times without stopping now...used to just be up one side of the pitch and i'd be gasping!

Good luck every one, think cossies and beach!

Cheers Curly. I found that first 2 stone quite easy. but having a hungry few days so not so easy this week. I've gotten into a bad habit of snacking on dry Shreddies, which, strictly speaking are OK on the diet but not in the quantities I've been eating

Cheers Mandy, got my lazy back side back into the gym this week so hopefully that'll kick start the new year weight loss.

Good for you for getting organised. That's half the battle. Now you've just got to start.

Oooh, that sounds soooreeee. Thankfully, you've got the right attitude. For so long, Drs prescribed bed rest for bad backs but that's just the oppoisite of what is really needed.

Rugby sounds great fun - good on ya

Hello, can I join your thread? I have all my baby weight to lose, plus more on top (2.5 stone in total). I hope to have a stone off by my birthday in March, then the rest by October, when we are hopefully off to Perth.

I have joined WW online and have lost 2lbs so far this year. As for exercise nothing but walking atm. I had SPD in my pregnancy so getting back into it slowly. I'm going to start jogging again soon, and swimming (just bought a new cossie - was that a horror show or what!)
