Nespresso
What's this all about? I see a fancy new store has opened in Perth (where Quiksilver used to be) and it's always busy. I don't drink coffee but it all looks a bit OTT to me.
What's the deal?

Re: Nespresso
I didn't know, until I just googled it, that Nespresso is actually Nestle Nespresso . . . which makes Nespresso, Nescafe (shudder) in little tin foil satchets . . . 'coffee' for people who don't like coffee.

Re: Nespresso
Really handy, compact and easy to clean machines. I looked at them a few years ago but couldn't bring myself to buy one for a number of reasons.
So I continue with a plunger that cost about $17, and I still make great coffee.
- I'd need at least 3 of the larger pods to make one cup of coffee, and I drink two a day.
- They only sell one fairtrade coffee, and it's not great.
- I couldn't justify the amount of waste made by all those little tin pods.
So I continue with a plunger that cost about $17, and I still make great coffee.

Re: Nespresso
Well I do like my coffee and that wouldn't be a huge issue, but the other two and then that one added up to a complete no-no. They told me the pods can be recycled but it's still not environmentally sound.
Hmmm some interesting stats on here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nespresso
edit: Interesting to a data saddo like me, at least

Re: Nespresso
We have one in the tea room at work and one of the girls buys pods in bulk at Meyer, but I don't bother. The coffee is shite so I'd rather walk 2 blocks to Cafe 54 for a decent cup of coffee.

Re: Nespresso
We have one at home and love it. No mess and even I can operate it. Top of the range here is about $800 -900.
Bought the same in John Lewis for £195 plus a £50 cash back. Lugged it through Heathrow and reclaimed the 20% VAT.
Now drink the coffee with sugar and a huge smug look on my face.
