interesting post - at least we have water in England - its running out fast according to my old friends in Eltahm Vic. The climate in Oz will be unbearable in the coming global warming years. At least we Brits are thinking about the environment - unlike to Ozzies.

I agree the fine was a tad high, but so are the speeding fines for 1.5mph over the speed limit in Vic!!

Makes you wonder why we can recycle more things in Vic than we could in London.

You can't be done for being 1.5mph (2.41kph) over the limit because there is a 3kph allowance that is written into the law.

I took a train from West Croydon to Victoria on Saturday night (had to divert from Redhill, Surrey) and it was horrible, must be the worst place in the UK to live. I can think of a hundred reasons to leave the Uk and only one to stay :-(

As you said, it is the Mail!
It is also untrue. A woman from Exeter was taken to court a while ago and ordered to pay a fine of £2000.

It was later overturned as a ridiculous case and she was let off the pathetic charges!

You are living in La La Land somewhere...probably Oz - dont know where you got that 2.41 kph law thing from!

As for the recycle more things in Vic than London crap...if that is all you are worried about - how about the future in Oz with NO WATER!!! - you will be recycling that - in fact some poeple are already in Eltam!!!

There is no issues here in the Best Part of the UK... Hampshire
