Hopefully you weren't at the Sydney Mardi Gras at the time you said that.
Never heard of Zolar before and I suspect that you'll be condemning your kid to lifetime of "No, Zolar, Z O L A R. Yes, it is unusual. No, it doesn't mean anything. My dad thought it was a nice name", soon to be followed by sniggers after his back is turned. Not keen on Roger either. Couldn't you guys have another go? (my mate Fintan is having a boy in two weeks and is insisting on calling him Megatron! But then he's a very damaged person.) |

I really like Gobnait. I always thought Cumwad would be nice for a boy, but my husband didn't like it. Guess it depends on your surname whether or not there is a nice ring to it.

Re: Naming Babies
I used to know someone who called their daughter Trade. (And this is for real.)
I'm not sure it conjures up the right image for a girl but hey ho it's their daughter :blink: |

Re: Naming Babies
Well when I was pregnant my husband came home with 2 lists with names on them (boy and girl obviously). I said great, had a look at it and a boys name was quickly decided on. Luckily with 20 weeks we know we were having a son, because if he had been a she, she wouldn't have a name at all . So....when my son asked me what would my name have been if I had been a girl I told him that we already knew we were going to have a lovely boy and didn't pick one out. Btw his name is Joe. Oh and did you know that over here (Holland) Joey is a common name (Joe isn't!). Can you imagine emigrating to Australia being named Joey?
