Old film called saturday night sunday morning and Angels with dirty faces.
I used to come home late from the pub when living at home as a mere lad and the old Man used to wait up and then say " Good film on now" hence 2 old black and whites which really are great films.
Modern films i'd say Sexy beast with the wonderfull Ray Winstone.

If we are going absolute all time fav then
Serious: The Deerhunter
Comedy: The Life of Brian
Stacks more obviously, no 2 on the serious list would be The Shawshank Redemption but too many others to choose from.

Pulp Fiction - all time tippermost toppermost
Honourable mentions to:
Blues Brothers - original, not that sh*te 2nd one
Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels - "it's been emotional"
Snatch - thought Bradd Pitt was great
True Romance
Green Mile
Life of Brian - and you have to be able to quote annoying large chunks of it

My all time favourite movie was one called "Like Water for Chocolate"
But I love movies like Green Mile, Shawshank Redemption, Seven, 12 Monkeys, 8mm, Basketball Diaries, Romeo & Juliet(Baz's version).
A recent movie I saw that I loved was Prime with Uma and Meryl....excellent!!

The Shawshank Redemption was my favourite for a long time, but no film has ever blown me away in the cinema like The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring. The others were good, but it was the first one that made the hugest impact!
