My son has just got his SCUBA licence - aged 12!
How cool is that? a licensed open water SCUBA diver at 12 years & 5 months of age.

my daughter did too - I was well proud - know how you feel renth-pass on congrats its not easy and by no means a dead cert that he wouldve passed either!

congratulations on that but wasn't there some worries on the effects of diving on young bodies
I was advised not to let mine start until they were older but that was a decade ago so maybe further research has been done?

A new world has just opened up for your son. Good on him. I hope he really enjoys his life under the surface. It can be great fun. Who knows, it might end up being a career choice for him.
I learnt to dive in Portsmouth Harbour in the middle of an English winter. I know where I would have rather it had been.

Cool! DD (aged nearly 14) wants to complete her PADI- she has got part of it, but we haven't done any diving since getting to Australia 16 months ago!
