Re: At the movies
Somewhere - excellent, beautifully filmed with a director not afraid of inaction.
Blue Valentine - excellent, beautifully acted, sometimes uncomfortable.
The Social Network - we went to a cinema with beds and I justifiably nodded off a couple of times.
The King's Speech - excellent, give that man an Oscar.
Another Year - fabulous, quirky, like car crash TV at times, Oscar-worthy performances from some very underrated British actors.

Re: At the movies
I very rarely go to the flicks as I hate the places - or at least I did in Singapore thanks to too much aircon, too small seats, and people that think it's fine to talk on the phone and eat hot takeaway in there - but in Sydney we have some very cute little places and I'm getting back into it.
I'm not much of a blockbuster girl and The Geek likes high action or sci-fi/fantasy so usually goes with his boyfriends (or my like-minded girlfriend). However this last 6 weeks or so we've been a lot, and most of them have been my choice. It's a good time of year for my kind of movie.
