Lake Como and Bellagio in Northern Italy - probably the most beautiful place I have ever been to

Victoria Falls

Etosha National Park in NW Namibia and the Desert Elephants - beautiful but I wasn't on holiday.....

Hluhluwe-Umfolozi Game Reserve, Zululand SA - and the White Rhino

Kosi Bay, Northern Zululand

Alaska - all of it

Vietnam - all of it - long before it became commercial

Cape Arid National Park, nr Esparance WA in January just gone - remote, empty, pristine, totally amazing

West Coast, South island NZ

Tokyo

Plus loads of others

I found Rome a very interesting city. It is 15 years since I went so I cannot remember all the details, but I was there 5 days and each was jam packed with interesting things to do.

I have just come back from Bora Bora and I think this will prove to be the most memorable for years to come on account of the beauty. Seen all the pictures of course, but it just didn't prepare me for quite how stunning it would be.

Albania was pretty interesting. I spent about 4 or 5 weeks there 9 years ago in the southeast of the country.

Voi Lodge in Kenya. Seeing the animals at the waterhole was like that scene from the Lion King!

Tom are you in the Air Force where you currently reside. Wherever that is.

I take it your wife doesn't read this forum.

Amen to that!

In Britain the Yorkshire Dales are by far the most beautiful place to me, there's just something incredibly special about this place.

Why is Brisbane so unpopular, I wish someone would explain?
I was really excited about going there before I joined this forum but since I've read more posts on BE I've been slightly put off with all the negativity about it.

Is there something I should know about it that I've missed? Just wondering.

Half a dozen comments on one thread does not make a place 'unpopular'. There are many thousands living there more than happily. Why would a few comments whether positive or negative from complete strangers have any bearing on whether you'd be excited by a place?

Well it isn't just this thread, MP, it's something I have noticed since I've been a regular poster.
I genuinely would like to know if there is a reason/reasons why it seems so unpopular.

If there is a credible reason and it's not just 'banter' then it will save me a lot of time and money moving somewhere that isn't as nice as what I first thought.
