Here's a novel idea Mitsubishi management - make cars that people want to buy:

Adelaide is in desperate need of development for it to be anything other than a giant retirement village. It can't rely on the car industry all the time and the car industry in Australia needs to wake up and start making cars people can afford to run these days instead of churning out yet another new commodore.

But Aussies DEMAND cars that have engines far too big for purpose and drink fuel like an alcoholic the day before Prohibition...

The knucklehead boy racers still like the big cars tho and IMHO it's because of the bloody Clipsal V8 race. The driving around town when that shit is on is even worse than usual.

The fact you can own multiple vehicles here, and be insured on all of them, as opposed to the uk system, doesnt help matters.

They drive a sensible crappy ute all day, then hoon around in a v8 Muff to Tuff monster at night !

When I have a choice of full size hire car I take a 380 over a Holden, its a much tighter drive though admittedly it is smaller inside.

The 380 is a nice car and is priced fairly well - it's just that nobody bought it.

Cool Re: Mitsubishi plant in Adelaide closing

maybe Glasgow lass should move to the hills if she does not like to see race cars. the Clipsal has and will continue to put Adelaide on the map and does produce a good cash flow for the economy. Every one has a choice in which car they own, if you prefere a reliant robin (great fuel saver) then good on ya, some people prefer big over small.
you can always shop at Marion if you dont want to go to the city when the great race is on.

Go the Crows.
And Im sorry to here the factory is closing down. It will be hard on all those familys.

I'm not talking about driving in the city. There is a noticable difference in the driving of certain empty headed individuals on for example Port Wakefield Road when the Clipsal race is on. It's not the ownership of a particular car that I object to, however a portion(that's a portion not all) of the population that drive large V6 (for example) like to drive as if they are in the race themselves on public roads thus endangering families like my own on the same roads.THAT'S what I object to.
And just so we're clear, I am in favour of anything that brings the tourist or any other dollar to SA and would like to see more.

I do live in Brisbane but lived in Adelaide until 2 yrs ago.
I know what you are saying but it sounded like just because of the clipsal you have a few morons on the road, they are everywhere, so again do we blame the parents, or the Goverment. you cant blame what people drive for the closing of Mitsubshi that comes down to managment, not giving the people what they want. maybe its the Ford / Holden thing, who knows all i know is they have been talking about closing the plant for a long time now, i think everyone knew it was going to happen it was only when was it going to happen. You still have to feel sorry for the workers and there familys.
