Re: The mission is over!
Prob the best job I ever had, but simply not for me as I wasn't motivated enough and was often home by 3/4am ...
I was back driving a cab in Nov / Dec 2007 and to be honest quite enjoyed it after a few years away, but being away from my family and friends was quite hard, so was glad to be back! ...

Hi Paul *waves from K*nt*
Shocking really - even Beth lasted longer than you away when she had her wobbly
You weren't out long enough for us even to start talking about you behind your back
You do KNOW I'm teasing, don't you
Glad you decided to stick around - the more people who know what the cr*p times can be like, the better. It brings a bit of balance to the forum, which has to be a good thing for everyone. Keeps the prospect of migrating more realistic, you know?

Re: The mission is over!
Ok, gonna look like a fool for 'returning' so early, but personally it won't be the first time I've made a fool of myself on here, so 'onwards and up aye!'
After my OP I pm'd Sue and asked for my account to be deleted, and I guess she knows me too well and THIS time said I had to go a month without a post and she'd do it! ... I failed! ...
Anyway ...
Just a few points.
Well in the past I've been accused of being an 'attention seeker' ... and if I wanted to go, then just GO! ... DON'T make no drama of it!!!
This time, at the time of the OP I DID want to GO ... but at the same time felt I owed the people that has supported me over the years some kind of excuse / reason ... albeit a short one!
After reading your reply I felt I couldn't win as if I went on about 'this and that' I'd be accused as an attention whore. If I just slipped away it would be wrong to me mates. So I tried to do sommit 'in between'.
Can't win ... kind of situ!
I KEEP reading this, and prob the BIGGEST reason I've returned!
Ok, I KNOW there's people on here who don't like me, for WHATEVER reason, but at the same time with the law of averages there is (thankfully) people who do!
I HAVE to admit I struggle with rejection but HAVE to learn that it too is the law of averages! ... some will! ... some won't!
Earlier I spent god knows how long pm'ing people on here cos I thought I'm off and don't wanna lose touch. People who *I* consider me mates! ... but hey! ... I aint goin anywhere! ...
I'm gonna go on and post stupid email jokes, funny clips, and god knows what ... and if it's a contender for BE's 'most crap thread' then so what!!!
I just wanna say *sorry* for throwing my action man out of my pram, and that I WILL try to build a stronger Paul for the future on BE!
Thread killed?
Probably! ...
Love you all!

Ahhhh. Well I did it for 10 years. Did a little spell at the airport, but was a bit of a 'Ghoster' and worked thru the early hours ... used to start at midnight! ...

Re: The mission is over!
Yeah who you and all the rest! ...
my dad works the twilight hours, goes by the name of Terry or Tel , has worked those hrs all his black cab career, got in as we went to school and went out as we went to bed, got used to it , well got used to the money
and the holidays every 3 weeks or so, even if they were camping .
he lives in Cornwall but comes down to work for 2,3 weeks at a time

Yeah I used to go out towards the end of my career when the sprogs went to bed, but I'd pick them up from school and have all evening with them ...
I can't complain about the upbringing of my kids with me being a cabbie as I see heaps of them, but it's just as things dragged on, I got slacker and slacker with the job and in the end I was doing 3 hours a night ...
I knew a bloke who lives in Israel for 10 months of the year and drives a cab in London for Nov / Dec. He lives his 10 months there with the money he makes in his 2 months in London so can't be bad!
I've often said to Nic about us both goin back for 3 / 4 months of the year and me working hard and coming back to live here for 8 / 9 months without work! ... but 1) she has absolutely NO urge to return to blighty! ... and if the truth be known ... 2) ... nor do I!
Anyway, far past my bedtime so will go and make some zzzz's till tomorrow.
Thanks for the chat ...

PAUL!!!
You old reprobate. There was me thinking you'd gone forever and here you are back again. So glad to see you!
I will never believe you again.
I did feel a bit guilty because I often read your jokes etc, have a laugh and then don't post because a 'pmsl' or a doesn't really say much. However, I will make sure I post something now in case you go off on a strop again.

It'll take time, but I'm armed with THIS knowledge now so see how we go eh! ...
As I said earlier I prob threw my poor action man out of my pram cos I was getting 'ignored' on here ... ... but I DO / WILL have to learn that that's simply just how it goes!!!
Plod on! ... do what you do! ... and bollox to the one's that don't like it aye!
See how we go!
Anyway ... is it that time? ....
