Thanks to every one for their concern. :)

We were without power for over 48 hours.
Internet and phones took longer and have been up and down like a jack in the box.

First got back online last night but was knocked off again within a few minutes. Seems to have settled down now.

Two lions walking down the road during a tropical cyclone...;)

Thank you. :)

No, she didn't bother us much at all thankfully.

Can we change the title to FIRES too, poor WA are copping it bad, as are parts of VIC with fires... Lets hope anymore disasters **** off and miss us!!

Three cheers for Sue, who says the current cyclone/flood forum can stay on as a sub-forum of the Australia forum, and she will rename it to encompass Fires, tsunami, quakes, and any other disaster in Aus.........

It was only supposed to be a gathering for the Qld floods threads, but looking at the number of disaster-orientated threads over the years, it deserves to stay and widen its scope I think :) Hopefully it will also become a source of useful info and links for preparedness as well as for the events themselves

We are 35 mins from Roleystone and our house has been reeking of smoke to the point we have to shut doors/windows but thats about it, luckily we were not anywhere near the danger zone.

I can offer temporary shelter for cats/small dogs and birds in my garden for any displaced pets in the Roley/Kelmscott fires - with regards to dogs, small breeds preferably de-sexed if males.

I have one small cat cage and the offer of a large aviary for birds and a seperate area in the garden for dogs.
