I think they are alright! Controversial obviously, but we had to go with them when we moved here as every other provider told us we weren't in a broadband area, including Optus. Yet we had Cable TV to the house. But still Optus said no, they didn't do cable to our area.

Now we have a rather nice package with Telstra, 25Gig a month cable broadband extreme (17 Mbps), Foxtel, and home phone all with Telstra.

It comes in at about $200 a month, so probably not the cheapest, but we get all free local calls, and $10 of here and a $10 off there for having all with the one provider. Mostly the cost is $90 for the broadband, $80 for Foxtel, and $30 for phone line

As I said at the start, show me any other provider who can offer fast cable broadband, foxtel and home phone in this area for less, and I'd go with them. But, they don't exist, and the service we've had from Telstra has been good, so no, I know its fashionable to have a dig at them, but really, they're ok, but a tad expensive.

Usually we would agree that Telstra are pants but they surprised us at the weekend!!

Lost our phone line and internet connection Saturday arvo they came out Sunday morning and repaired it!!!

So they are in the good books........for now anyway!!! X

From my experience, Telstra are expensive, but the service tends to be good.

For instance, I use Telstra for my mobile on their next G network which has excellent coverage and is reliable. It's more money than the other networks, but you get better coverage which is important if your out and about.

good to see someone got it.

The two I was actually mixing up were:

Is the Pope Catholic?
Do Bears shit in the woods

never heard "Does the pope wear a silly hat?" before

Telstra are a bunch of amateurs. We've had nothing but problems with them...connecting us,disconnecting us by mistake, giving us a wrong number, etc etc etc. Too boring (and stressful) to go through it all again but I would certainly never use them again.

We ended up going with someone else for our broadband as Telstra couldn't get that organised either.

Jeez. And I thought sallyclaire and paulry were being pedantic :D

I think it might be the proddy version  :D

But a variant can be found in "Is Wrestling Fixed?" by Carter USM (1992 Love Album).
