Hi, we are on 475 visa n nominated for SA & WA. We have done extensive search on Adelaide and pretty much its where we want to go. However, we would like to know more about Mandurah too. Thanks, Mari

What is the attraction Mandurah vis Adelaide ?

I noticed that you looked at the Riverina at one time, are you looking
for a more rural area.

Mandurah is not rural more a outer suburb of Perth. It has a very wide
choice in housing -Canal Villas, Golfing Estates , some older large blocks
(pre 1960s) and heaps of new housing estates.

Its very touristy in the warmer months, can be congested with traffic
(may change with the new freeway)

If you live seaside (ie Halls Head ) very few flies and mozzies.
Live inland - well just read the complaints about outdoor living on this site.!!!!!

It has extended shopping hours so its not as restricted as NOR
(thats not saying much thou)

Has a Uni campus (Murdoch Uni) may not do the subjects you want.
Other Uni,s approx. 1 hr train or car in Perth SOR

Major Hospital in Mandurah is good , Rockingham Base Hospital only
20 minutes from Mandurah ( these are public Hospitals)

Tks for the info. Yes, I was looking to live near big cities because we have teenage kids.

Is it possible to go to Uni in Perth on 475 vis?

I live in a ccountry with beaches all around us so prefer to live in a leafy area - for a change. Pls any suggestions?

As you can see (map below) its very much coastal (click on MAPS)
There are some "leafy " suburbs but beware they mainly grow on the flood plain -mozzie area.
most common tree/shrub around Mandurah is the melaleuca-not what you would call a leafy tree.!

if you are after hills/ trees -not in Mandurah but Peel Region would .

This is in comparison to the Adelaide Hills where house blocks are 1/4
acre plus. -more room for trees.

Most heavy tree areas are the older suburbs -modern block size doesn't permit a lot of trees.
You may find a large block with a lot of trees but subdivision is making this an expensive option(this only applys within the city limits)

Thank you so much for the links, info and advice.

Unfortunately the scheme is for PR holders not us - 475 visa.

We woul like to be away from Mosquitos as much as possible as one of my daughters is alergic to it. She gets huge bumbs on the legs and hands.

Don't want to get your hopes up but both my wife and daughter had severe reactions to mozzies in both South Africa and the UK (bumps and blisters)- almost no reaction to the mozzies here.
