Make-up... good or bad?

Re: Make-up... good or bad?
It can be quite entertaining seeing fairly attractive girls getting on trains and going through their regimen ..and getting off the train looking worse for it...they look as if they have dusted their faces in flour..it's what you do before going on set under serious lighting - not into the office, surely?
This whole celeb makeup look is a sorry one, in my opinion.
Hmmm...my wife tells me I need to moisterise...should I?

Oil of Ulay is a nice simple one... or Aldi has a great cheap moisturiser called Lacura which comes in a pump bottle. I've read media reviews where people rave about Lacura as being better than really expensive ones.
I tried it and it's light weight with a nice neutral scent. I'm going to use it regularly now.

The guys I know who moisturise do seem to have good skin.

I ran out of all my expensive creams, so went & bought the serum & I like it, not crazy about the fragances in it, but it would do for the time being.
thought you might find this interesting.

Re: Make-up... good or bad?
I only wear full make up for special occasions but for work i have eye shadow and lip stick and lip liner . It makes me feel more confident as my face looks so pale and with out a bit of colour i tend to get people asking if im ill. Not good when you are a case manager
I also tend to wear smart blouses and trousers/ Skirts of office type dresses and i feel more proffesional in a little make up. When i worked as a nurse and did nights i never work make up as i never saw any one lol.
If im just nipping to the shops then a tinted lip balm does me.
I always have a 30+spf face moisturiser on which i put on my hands as well.
Although im now 41 most of my office thought i was 10 years younger . Not many of my collegues wear make up but when i go to meeting with gov agencies the woman have full slap on and in Darwin heat it melts during case conferences which i find amusing

Re: Make-up... good or bad?
I was quite shocked when a woman recently declared that she NEVER leaves the house unless she is fully made-up.
Personally, I can't stand the feeling of covering my face with gunk every day and maybe just wear a bit of lipstick and save the works for special occasions.
So, what's the consensus on make-up? Should we slap it all on - or is it ok to go bare-faced?

Re: Make-up... good or bad?
I confess
Went to work today with NO makeup on, too bloody knackered to do it as I had to be up at stupid o clock as usual this morning to be there by 06.30... I was woken by the cold, then the wind, then cats and the hangover kicked in as soon as I opened my eyes when the alarm went off at 0500...
Got SOOOOOO bloody sick of people asking me if I was ill I am setting the alarm 10minutes early for the morning...

For goodness sake DONT go to a makeup count and get them to choose for you... They specialise in makeup thats a shade or two wrong, so you have to go back and buy a different shade... Take a good friend with you, an hoest friend who will tell you summit looks like shite... And makesure you buy idiot proof to apply products.... Its an art that can take years of practice.... And as a virgin they will try and get to third base on your first date ... Take it SLOWLY... Take advice... But NOT from the sales girls...
Jeez woman, cant you wait til saturday and I'll come with you ?
