Default Long Weekend in Oz

Hiya,

Is anyone going away for this Long Weekend? We're here in chilly Mackay with no dosh to go anywhere. If we could afford it though we'd go to Longitude 131 in the outback (but at $900 pp per night it aint gonna happen!). Where would you go for a short break if you had the money?

Mrs M's at work all weekend and I'm on call so we won't be doing much of anything

We had a long weekend for our anniversary in April at the Peppers Salt resort in Kingscliffe, NSW and would recommend it

oooh, I'm not really a proper camping girl meself - hence the 5* 'tents' at Longitude

Peppers is the group I used to work for - I'm still in touch with them. They do value the customer so good to hear they are succeeding! We would also like to do the ship to Antartica, but oh yes, no money or time still! sigh

I'm a luxury camper Stella. I like a massive tent, all the mod cons and very nice beds. Basically a hotel in a bag.

some mates have a holiday home in Lorne (bought many years ago!) and about 20 of us get together to quaff wine and eat burnt offerings.

Unfortunately I am on a course of antibiotics so I will be designated driver all weekend, surrounded by a bunch of pissheads!

If I had the money and didn't need to work, I'd sleep all weekend
