Yes we have several inches of snow this morning and its still snowing heavily. For once the weather forecasters got it right - apparently the heaviest snow in London since 2000.

I'm going to try to get to work in the City - if I do I'll take and post some pictures of some of the famous sights of London in the snow.

the only time I can remember in my 4 years in Canada that we were unable to carry on as normal was in Feb 2004. In Nova Scotia where I lived we had 1 metre of snow over night. The rest of the time life goes on as normal.

Ive been checking the departure boards online for my train and it isnt looking good.

Im going to take a wobble to my station and see whats going on.

Might take my camera as well.

I have made it to the city no problems! Its not nice here though - slushy and visibility nil as the snow is still gusting up the Thames. No point in taking piccies.

WE have snow here in Durham too. Not much but its still falling. At least i get to wear my leopord print wellies out

Seriously though ... talk of snow at home makes me feel a little homesick!

Makes me glad I'm NOT there!!

It's lovely when it's falling and your indoors, but when you've to go out in it, it's awful. Then it turns to slush within the day and your feet always get wet, no matter which shoes/wellies you wear.

The snow is a couple of inches deep here in Surrey UK, and the snowflakes are still drifting to the ground through the windless sky.
Tyre tracks in our drive and a clear brick space were the car was parked. In the garden our trees and lawns are picture postcard white with a few tiny footprints where the local birds have been wandering around. It looks like the foxes are staying indoors for now.
The postbox at the corner of the road looks for all the world that it should be photographed for the next Christmas card. An artist's paradise today.
This is England's white and pleasant land and a wonderful place to be.

Indeed it is.

My entire department has made it to work from all over Southern England. There is nothing wrong with the UK travel service today that is preventing people getting to work.
