Default Leprechauns in Scotland?

A woman in the local library, upon hearing my accent, tonight asked me "how are the leprechauns?"

I informed her that you don't get leprechauns in Scotland, in a voice just loud enough for everyone else to hear.

Now I am beginning to have second thoughts, maybe she was privy to some esoteric knowledge, perhaps someone on this board can confirm if there are indeed leprechauns in Scotland?

I was an Elf in the Brownies but there were definitely leprechauns there too. I think there were also sprites and pixies. That was in Scotland. So to answer your question, then yes, there are leprechauns in Scotland
