Leaving Party

Ok lets have some ideas for a leaving party. What have you all done for leaving parties? Thought about having an Australia theme, obviously. Any idea's for food, entertainment , anything really.

My leaving do was interrupted by my mate's 15 year old daughter taking advantage of the festivities and absconding with some young blighter she'd met in a fairground. The whole evening turned out to be a giant search and rescue mission whilst my mate was weeping. Don't invite any b@oody teens, that's my hint and tip

I was going to - then changed my mind - thought after a few drinks it would all get too mushy and i'd rather people nor me cried - i won't even let anyone come to the airport

We won't be doing the leaving party thing, would be far too upsetting!

Would suggest a bar and music and lots of tissues ;)

Having a big leaving do in town - meal followed by drinks and dancing - have booked out top floor of a club. Looking for an inflatable kangaroo, and maybe a shark... plus some aussie flags..... Hope it will be a great night!
Could not just slink off and not say goodbye to people.

I spent my last month in the UK basically in the pub.As I had one leaving do with my work colleges:beer:
Then another with my oldest dearest friends and then a final farewell do on are last evening with the family.:)
Having one bash ,would of made life a lot more easy'er .
But for me saying a proper cheerio to each and everyone would have been a lot harder.:

Whoop's and I forgot to mention the crazy girls night out I had to. He He .

Cheers all for your replies. Don't think it will be too upsetting as we will see those close to us after the party and be able to say our private goodbyes then. I agree about them waving us off at the airport been a bad idea.
I discussed it with my mum who also agreed that we think that would be too hard and also upsetting for the children.

Thanks daunted for that website, I have had a look and will definately be placing an order.

Trying to sort out a venue at the mo.

We are thinking of having an 'open weekend' where friends and family can call in at anytime over the weekend. I will be a two day party!!! with an Aussie theme of course!! Good luck with your plans!! C x

Our original saturday night plan is turning in to a bit of a 'whole weekender' now - people keep saying they want to meet up for breakfast in the morning, or let's have lunch together first, or maybe we'll come down on Friday too.....
Promises to be a good weekend though!
(Will have to detox for a month afterwards!)
