1. Attend the games, spend the money, support the teams and do what you can to improve the perception, profile and ultimately quality of the game.

2. Sit back, whinge about how it aint that good and that Accrington Stanley would beat them (they wouldn't, btw), thus keeping the many media driven football haters with not so hidden agenda in ammunition for years to come...

I chose #1 and am proud of my team and my sport....

1) I do go to all the games and 2) Accrington wouldn't (they are dire - saw them a few months back) but other teams at the top of Div 2 (Brentford, Bury and Wycombe) would have a good chance.

So Perth winning in 2003 and 2004 isn't enough for you????????????????

There old NSL success hasnt carried over to the A league for some reason. Twas a totally different situation with the NSL.

I would love to see Perth repeat their performances from 2003/4, thats my whole point, they were the bench mark back with their large crowds in the Old NSL days. It seems it's more like its not enough for the people of Perth.

I wasn't around then but I can't quite understand why the attendance dropped from 14000 to 9000 even before they had won the NSL. Strange.

Re: A-league final

I'll give you a scenario why 'we', ie the Glory can't compete on a level playing field anymore ...

Every away game for the Glory costs them approximately $50-60K incl. flights, 3 nights accom. support staff, travel & meals ...

The FFA do zero to support these costs. A proportion of the money that the A League generates must be distributed on a sliding scale relating to the amount of travel the side is question does.

We are not talking Chelsea & Manchester United here who pamper & supply their players with everything down to underwear, yes jocks ...

You could argue that Adelaide have made good bearing in mind their location but they maybe cash rich, I'm unsure of their financial status?

The likes of Sydney FC may only make 3 flights a season ... therefore something needs doing ...

The issue needs addressing to make the league more fair ... salaries are increasing as are peripheral costs ... I want to see the Glory compete again.

Re: A-league final

Tim Cahill aside, that is a piss weak squad ...

Of the rest ...

Brad Jones ... capable young keeper.
Lucas Neill ... absolute yard dog.
Harry Kewell ... see Darren Anderton.
Vinny Grella ... the crab.
Mark Bresciano ... would struggle in the EPL.
Scott Macdonald ... Not even 1st choice at Celtic.

as for the remainder ...

Altho' Schwarzer is having a decent season.

No doubt they'll call on Tub Viduka ...

I've watched their qualifiers to date and too be honest they're struggled ... very average so far.
