Not really.

We're still here though. Hubby not settled and out of work again. Son still not working or going to college.

Both daughters in UK.

Our eldest daughter is coming over at the end of the month for 3 weeks - so we have something to look forward to.

Sorry to hear that J, but good on you for sticking it out :)

Are you considering going back?

PM me if you prefer X

We originally agreed to stay for 2 years to get citizenship.

We have had one of the worst years of our lives and we almost reached breaking point.

Everything that could go wrong did. It's not that we hate Australia - it's just circumstances have all been against us.

The hardest part has been being without the girls.

I know that if we hadn't bought a house we would've been back in Scotland by now.

Still don't know where we go from here.

I have a good job now (although it is a temporary contract) and we are just taking things a day at a time.

Never say never...

You could always come and join us on the Gold Coast

I want my citizenship so that should we ever have to go back then we will all have the option to return again should we decide to.

Lovely speaking to you J, keep your chin up, Im sure your change of luck must be just around the corner  C x

Hubby thinks what's the point of citizenship if we don't want to stay but I think what a waste of money not to get it.

One day our kids may want to live here and then we won't get back in. I'd rather have the option.

Anyway I'm not sure I want to go back to the UK.

I like the climate here better.

Only time will tell.

Watch this space.

Are your kids all with you - I seem to remember you left some behind or in the army. Am I right?

Not me, I have two kids and they are both here with us in Australia, must be someone else.

Stick to your guns if citizenship is your wish as you never know whats around the corner do you x
