Did I say that my sis is having a girl:) She is really happy - she has a 9 year old daughter from her first marriage and a son from her second and her OH only has boys.....

I am in the process of crocheting her a shawl and I have bought some fab furry wool to make a baby poncho for her!!!! I was thinking it will probably cost more to post them than they will to make:sneaky:

That's good news! I did wonder how she was as she had a hard time with her first baby. How is she? Well I hope.

I'm sure the fact that you made a gift is more important than than anything else. We've kept all the things like that ..... (Got to ship them now...)

Will you go back to visit when the baby is born? I think you said you would.

Her blood sugar levels are going up but they are keeping a close eye on her...

I always make gifts for babies of family / special friends as I love handmade cardis, shawls and things.... With my sis I will also buy loads though too - I always do!!! I have already bought a few bits - I saw a fab pair of Ugg booties in the shop last week and I have to go back and by them now I know she is having a girl;):)

Yeah I will go back to see the baby probably towards the end of the year / beginning of next and she is coming over to see me next summer:) They have even talked about emigrating recently - I think once they come over they will want to for sure... Which is exciting for me!!!

Glad that she is still OK and they are monitoring her. The 2nd baby isn't supposed to be as hard - as your body is used to it. Not sure if that is true, but hope she has an easier time of it.

Very good news that you are coming over to see the baby AND they are coming to see you AND they are talking about emigrating!:thumbsup:

Can you convince them to start looking into the visa process and maybe get skills assessments done... You know how long this stuff takes. We have 2 sets of friends who are talking about it, but they don't understand that things can change and that they are getting close to age limits... all the time in the World to do it etc. I can't see them getting visas, but what can you say, if they won't listen??

It's my cousin's wedding in Sydney today and I'm here in wet Wales... thought we'd be validating now. It is very difficult when your family is the other side of the World.:(

Hope you had a good day.

Hi Lau - you're there!!

Glad it was a nice day. My cousin has broken her toe poor thing and will have to hobble down the aisle.. she had wedding shoes, but had to go out and buy jewelled thongs instead - really Aussie! So if it had rained, it would have put the tin hat on it.

If the visa in your sister's name, it might be worth looking into now. We just missed the 40 boat and lost vital points...:( It might not matter with their application though?? No harm in checking it out and sorting the Skills assessment. Ours took 3 months to complete and 4 months to assess. Longer than the visa!! (Well fingers crossed on that one!!)

Hope it all works out!

D and I both did Skills assessments too - we decided to go in Feb sent off docs for skills assessments in April applied for the visa June, got visa in Oct and moved here Dec... So between deciding to move and getting visa less than a year which I thought was okay!!

They'll probably apply in her OH's name although they may have delays as although he was born in UK both his parents are Iranian....

I am taking my youngest to watch high school musical the ice tour tomorrow (the joy!!!) and was looking for directions to the arena...

Getting married in flip-flops sounds good to me..... Broken toe:blink: Ouch!!!! No fun hey?

And you'll have impartial independent adjudicators to count the votes and ensure it's a democratic process too hey???/;)
