Ladies ... your favourite make up products/brands?

Re: Ladies ... your favourite make up products/brands?
Because of the high humidity here in Singapore I'm very careful to replace any eye make-up regularly, especially mascara. I also sniff my cosmetics regularly and, if anything doesn't smell quite right, out it goes.
I would think it's necessary in Australia too - definitely in QLD.

Is it just me or does anyone know anyone who has ever gotten an eye infection from mascara?? I reckon it's just cosmetics companies trying to get us to buy more mascara! Ok, I don't keep mine beyond about 5/6 months anyway coz they dry out but I sometimes think all this talk of infections etc is just hype.

I personally have never had a reaction from mascara....but I do think its the hardest make up item to 'get right'.....consistency,brush,curling,waterproof etc..... What do you think???? & Which Brand do you all use???
I use Max Factor or Maybelline, I have tried the more expensive ones but theses are my faves

Oh totally! The right mascara is a dream once you’ve found it, the wrong mascara is a nightmare! I use Covergirl Lash Exact which I get on eBay for about £2 each and I just love it. I curl my lashes first with my Ruby & Millie eyelash curler and then put on about two coats and I'm set. I’ve tried just about every other mascara going (coz I'm a sucker for anything new) but nothing compares, especially for that price!

I only replace things when they actually run out - and only wear makeup of an evening if i'm going out and not during the day....so things last me absolutely ages....although i agree some mascara's do dry out more quickly than others..
My OH classes me as a very low maintenance woman! Especially when he sees the prices advertised on TV for some products...
I tend to buy stuff from boots/superdrugs - ie, Rimmel or Maybelline being the stuff i have at the moment...

TBH mascara is one of the few things I use almost every day - certainly every day I go out, which is most of them - so it doesn't really get a chance to go off.
I'm on a permanent crusade to find the perfect one. Think I said above, I usually go back to Maybelline, although we can't get Great Lash here. Can you get it in Oz?
I know I've been emptying out all my travel pots lately ready for the move and I used some moisturiser that made my eyes go funny. It didn't smell spot on; I really shouldn't have been so tight but I'm from Yorkshire, what can I say?

I used Maybelline many moons ago when everyone was totally raving about Great Lash (the pink and green one). I hated it, found it gave me really bad panda eyes every time I used it. I've not used a Maybelline mascara since but given all these recommendations on here, maybe I should give it another go! I use their liquid concealer which is pretty good.

I tend to use Dior or Benefit products - I haven't found anywhere that sell Benefit over here
Not that I wear makeup often any more! I wear perfume every day though
