Kim Jong Un

Re: Kim Jong Un
Hindsight is a wonderful thing. You have to see the Korean war in the context of where the world was at in 1950. Most of the planet was genuinely worried about communist expansion - and with good reason. The USSR was bringing down the iron curtain in Europe and was in the process of acquiring nuclear weapons, the Berlin airlift had just happened and the largest country in the world, China had just become communist. Stalin was a seriously dangerous mofo. The west (aka the UN when it had real balls and was prepared to put its money where its mouth is) felt that a communist takeover of the Korean peninsula was not a very good idea and did what they had to do to prevent it - and it sent a message to the commies that world domination was not on the agenda. Yes, China is opening up to the world but only because they no they couldn't achieve success under communism

History Lesson awaits Trump if he Attacks North Korea: Analysts - Patriot Rising
This is an interesting "minority report" on North Korea, which might give us some clue as to what's in the mind of its ruling regime. If the report is even a quarter accurate, the USA would be utterly crazy to even try to invade. It seems to me that NK is a bit like Russia in being a heck of a lot stronger in defence than in offence. I don't know why the US just can't let them alone and ignore them. NK isn't going to attack anybody, except pre-emptively; so why give it any grounds for suspecting that it will be attacked?

Ukraine, Korea, Syria, Iran… Falsifying History is Uncle Sam’s Way to War
If Australia (! America's Deputy Sheriff, no less) is going to go to war with North Korea or any other US-chosen victim, it's important that the taxpayers hear both sides of the argument. Just listening to those with a vested interest in wars, is not enough. If we ("we") are intent on slaughtering a couple of million civilians, as happened last time, then we ("we") had better make doubly sure the decision is made based on accurate information. No?

Nothing in your link that states the reality that NK invaded SK in 1950 after the NK leadership pressurising Stalin to allow it - and nothing about the context of global geopolitics and aggressive communist expansion in 1950
I couldn't find a source for the ownership of this website but given its apologist nature, I suspect that it's Russian. Seeing that RT is a mouthpiece for Putin in the west, this website is probably the same. There is however a link at the bottom of the page to this garbage:
The 4th Media - Just Another Voice - an 'independent' media outfit based in Beijing
You really can do better

Hmm, well a 6.3 quake equates to about a megaton nuke explosion, or even bigger, which means (very probably) a thermonuclear warhead - a hydrogen bomb.

Sh*t got real, that will take out a city. And Kim has the demonstrated capability to make them.

If they have achieved fusion and miniaturisation...

Re: Kim Jong Un
However, even a container sized H-bomb can be placed, in a cargo container.
And as I say, I think they overperformed. A M6.3 quake is a BIG yield - plenty enough to spoil your day in the city of your choosing.

Re: Kim Jong Un
KJU is a maniac but he's not a suicidal maniac
He knows that any kind of nuclear attack by NK on Guam, Alaska, Japan, SK etc would be countered with a devastating counter-strike that would result in the utter destruction of his nation, a Chinese response and consequently the end of the world as we know it
MAD is still very much in play in Asia
Therefore, business as usual

Re: Kim Jong Un
I'm not sure how you could square a 6.3 quake with 100kt. Take a look at the seismic
Given the dissipation etc. you have to be well into the several hundred kilotonnes at the least, and to get down from the 1Mt you really need for the USGS to cut the earthquake size, which they haven't.
I have a sneaky suspicion that S Korea is playing down the size for domestic consumption - a 1Mt nuke would take out Seoul, 1.6m vs 300k casualties.

Re: Kim Jong Un
Some Chinese towns near the border felt the quake then felt the blast.
Surely the Chinese must be not so happy about the megabomb effects reaching their land.
