Unfortunatly to check you can be cruel and poke it with a stick to see if it puffs up and secrets milky poison or see identifying features http://www.canetoadbattle.com/identification.html.

Keep it in a cage until it warbles then you know what sort it is...

Here's a novel thought.. leave it alone. Most creatures will leave you alone if you do the same to them. Cane toads are highly overrated as being a nuisance to most people.

Watching some wildlife prog last night on the top end, and that had to go to many properties to find the wildlife they wanted to film as most places were inflested with cane toads, that had killed most of the local creatures.

Pine Rivers Council sent out a SPOT the FROG guide.. with a TOAD section, i must admit they all looked the bleedin same, apart from the green tree frog

I'm quite good at spotting them think it's the colour that catches my eye then I think Ha! is it a green tree frog or a cane toad in disguise..
