I cannot believe that 4 pages have been written on this subject. I think it is time you all took a chill pill. One of the things that I like about Australia is that no one gives a tuppenny toss what anyone else does or wears as long as it is not affecting their life. So what if someone goes bare foot or out in their pjs or whatever else. You might not do it, but as it is not affecting your life, why get worked up about it.

The written word sometimes just doesn't work

Oh and I did say that I sort of saw where you were coming from on one bit.
Apologies if I misconstrued your post.

We took our kids swimming at Joondalup pool yesterday with me in my pj pants and a t-shirt with thongs. It was Sunday, so I didn't get dressed all day.
I love the dress code here.

If you trod in muck or dirt or mud barefoot you'd probably do something about it at some point. If you did the same in shoes you might not do anything about it and still traipse through the hospital. Hey one of my blokes fell through the roof at a house fire and traipsed in with his smoky jacket and structural boots. Might even have spilt blood in a few places.

On balance, I have no issue. Where it matters, places get mopped.

Can understand walking through Bunnies barefoot- you might cop a trolley of all things.
