Keep your fingers crossed for me...
have interview NEXT Thursday (not this one) for job...
Same/better starting pay.... NO out of hours responsibility.... Getting out and about in the community.... Doing what I love best.... AND I'd have a desk.. I love having a desk... More social than nursing.. But using all my nursing knowledge... No calls at stupid o clock asking me stoopid questions, no turning out of bed at night to recannulate, support staff, sort out shite....
not saying it'll be less tressful, they dont pay well for you to sit around all day twisdling your thumbs...
More social hours.... A team I've met professionally and like... One I would LOVE to join.... Even though I know they have their own stresses..
I WANT THIS JOB
So PLEASE ... Keep your fingers crossed for me

and will be keeping them crosssed for you. Everyone has been so kind to me and I think some of that carried on with me into interview, I was in such a good mood when I went in that I kept the interviewers laughing and I'm sure that helped! Maybe being the class clown won't help at your interview, but you certainly will have a veritable army of people here all on your side and wishing you the best!

Am I, a clown?
I hope not, I'm scared of clowns...
Sometimes I scare myself...
So perhaps I am....
I feel a poll coming on.......

Re: Keep your fingers crossed for me...
Tho I did apply for jobs online whilst at work (during mymlunch break honest)
Dont get me wrong, I LOVE my job, I LOVE the place, I ADORE the surgeon who owns it... the team (with one or two exceptions) are brilliant.... But I think its probably a job for some one who's a bit younger (energetic) or with no family commitments...
Its the BEST job I've had since coming to Australia... And it IS my own fault, I'm a workaholic, and I take my responsibilities too seriously.... the standards I set myself are probably a bit too high .... So I have driven myself into the ground dealing with things when really perhaps I should have shrugged my shoulders and let them go... Or passed the buck upwards....
Eg... We have no contracts with agency coz we havent used them forever... We have no staff to cover the shift I've pulled every trick out of my hat now YOU deal with it coz ultimately this is an organisational issue and YOU are resposnible for the organisation.. I'm just the clinical manager.. Rather than do a double....
Or howabout, Due to staff sick leave I lost my "management day" again today, so I held a full patient load, ran the ward, dealt with all the shit AND did the rosters during what should have been my lunch break but still ended up leaving at least an hour late as usual....
Dont know for sure that this new job wont be more of the same, for tthe money they'll be wanting a pound of flesh, but it wont be a 24/7 pound of flesh... If you see what I mean... I know their team is stressed, I'm not blind or stupid, its just... Perhaps I just dont need the level of responsibility I currently feel I have.....
